Regular Season Round 1: Fenix S. - Chiba Seals 87-90

Another exciting game took place in Santiago where Japanese Chiba Seals (1-0) edged by three points Guatemalan Fenix S. (0-1) 90-87. Fenix S. was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Fenix S. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Chris Headen (180) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward P.J. Reason (193, college: Co.Georgia) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Dominican swingman Yensi Jimenez (190-96) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Hipoligo Caberd added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fenix S.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fenix S.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Seals will play against CDP in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fenix S.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Santiago Basket.
