Regular Season Round 10: Astana Tigers - Rostov 52-67

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Russian BC Rostov (5-2) beat on the road 13th ranked Kazakhstan Astana Tigers (1-6) 67-52 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Rostov. Astana Tigers managed to win third quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Rostov forced 20 Astana Tigers turnovers and had a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Ekaterina Osipova (187-97) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Anna Zaitceva (183-99) supported her with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four BC Rostov players scored in double figures. BC Rostov's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds by center Nadezhda Kondrakova (190-89) did not help to save the game for Astana Tigers. Guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. BC Rostov moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nika. Defending Kazakhstan champion Astana Tigers keep the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Liepaja/LSSS and PINKK-Pecsi.
