Regular Season Round 8: Fubon Braves - Mono Vampire 98-97

The biggest surprise took place in where host Taiwanese Fubon Braves (8-5) edged league's leader Thailand Mono Vampire (7-3) 98-97 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mono Vampire. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Fubon Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: UMass, agency: Two Points) who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds. Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Fubon Braves' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) produced 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import center Mike Morrison (206-89, college: GMU) added 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fubon Braves have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-5 record. Mono Vampire at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Fubon Braves. Mono Vampire will play next round against Singapore Slingers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fubon Braves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
