Regular Season Round 20: Vitre - Caen 64-59

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Vitre (9-11) beat at home higher ranked Caen (12-8) 64-59 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Robert Turner (188-93, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and Romain Gregoire (201-91) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Soriah Bangura (196-93) responded with 15 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and swingman Florian Thibedore (194-90) scored 13 points. Four Caen players scored in double figures. Vitre moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Dax-Gamarde. Loser Caen keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Vitre will face La Rochelle (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Caen will play against Lorient (#12) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
