Regular Season Round 15: Koroivos - Napfliou 78-84

There was an upset when higher ranked Koroivos (6-9) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Napfliou (5-10) 84-78 on Saturday. Napfliou dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Koroivos' 30. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 4 assists. Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Giannis Athanasoulas (202-87) with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Napfliou moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Anatolia. Loser Koroivos keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Napfliou will face bottom-ranked Amyntas D. (#16) in Athens in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
