Regular Season Round 18: Moron - Gijon 70-62

There was no surprise in Morón de la Frontera where 10th ranked Gijon (7-11) was defeated by eighth ranked Moron (9-9) 70-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Angel Vazquez (190-95) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Canadian forward Filip Vujadinovic (201) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Moron players scored in double figures. Moron's coach Antonio Lopez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) who recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Jamaican-Canadian guard Jamal Reynolds (193-94, college: Canisius) added 14 points respectively. Moron moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Loser Gijon keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Moron will face higher ranked Ponferrada CDP (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gijon will play against Zamorano (#7) and hope to win that game.
