Regular Season Round 30: Suduva-Mantinga - Silute 105-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Marijampole. Second ranked Suduva-Mantinga faced one of their biggest challengers Silute. Host Suduva-Mantinga (23-5) smashed guests from Silute (20-8) 105-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Silute. Suduva-Mantinga shot 65.0 percent from the field. They outrebounded Silute 41-23 including a 33-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Suduva-Mantinga players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Silute's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for the former international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86, agency: Players Group) contributed with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Povilas Sakinis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Andrius Gaidys (180-94) replied with 19 points and Ernestas Sederevicius (195-98) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Silute. Suduva-Mantinga maintains second position with 23-5 record having just two points less than leader Telsiai. Silute at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost.
