Regular Season Round 15: Tritonas S. - Eleftheroupoli 62-68

Very predictable result in Athens where seventh ranked Eleftheroupoli (8-7) defeated 12th ranked Tritonas S. (4-10) 68-62 on Saturday. Eleftheroupoli made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Eleftheroupoli had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tritonas S. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Stamatis Benas (206-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Serbian guard Nemanja Manojlovic (197-93, agency: Mansfield and Associates) helped adding 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian forward Nikola Stanojevic (203-90) scored 17 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Eleftheroupoli. Newly promoted Eleftheroupoli maintains seventh place with 8-7 record. Tritonas S. lost their third game in a row. Tritonas S. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Eleftheroupoli will face league's leader Charilaos TM in Mesolongi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tritonas S. will play at home against Olympiacos B (#3) and hope to win that game.
