Everything could happen in Las Palmas at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Gran Canaria II and 8th ranked Pardinyes-L. had identical 7-10 record. This time Gran Canaria II used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Lleida 98-82 on Saturday night. Gran Canaria II had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pardinyes-L.'s players. The best player for the winners was Dominican guard Jean Montero (189-3) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Finnish guard Edon Maxhuni (188-98, college: LBSU) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Gran Canaria II's coach Salvador Camps used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Wendell Davis (198-95, college: Ashland, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Marc Rubin-De-Celis (188-95, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Four Pardinyes-L. players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gran Canaria II maintains seventh position in Silver with 8-10 record. Pardinyes-L. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Gran Canaria II will face Albacete (#9) on the road in the next round. Pardinyes-L. will play against L'Hospitalet and hope to win that game.
