The most surprising game was the first loss of Pelita Jaya (2-1) in Jakarta on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Pacific Caesar (2-1) 74-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pelita Jaya. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Pacific Caesar dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Pelita Jaya's 22. American-Filipino guard Taylor Statham (198-92, college: CS San Bernar.) stepped up and scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Pacific Caesar players scored in double figures. Pacific Caesar's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Stephen-Deangelo Battle (198-91, college: Florida Southern) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Pacific Caesar moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Pelita Jaya. Pacific Caesar is looking forward to face Satria Muda (#4) in Jakarta in the next round. Pelita Jaya will play on the road against Bima Perkasa in Sakti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
