Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Limassol: Apollon (#3) and AEL (#8). Apollon (10-4) won against visiting AEL (2-11) 81-75. AEL was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 46-39 second half run of Apollon. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for guard Liam OReilly (188-96, college: Gardner-Webb) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Zacarry Douglas (203-95, college: NC Central) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward KenDarrius Hamilton (206-96, college: Tennessee St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jaylin Walker (185-97, college: Kent St.) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Apollon maintains third place with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader Keravnos. AEL lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Apollon will play against league's leader Keravnos in Strovolos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AEL will play at home against E.N. Paralimni (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
