Regular Season Round 20: Politekhnik - Mariupol 74-77

A very close game took place in Kharkiv between Mariupol and Politekhnik. Sixth ranked Mariupol (8-8) got a very close victory on the road over one of their biggest challengers Politekhnik (10-8). Mariupol managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 41-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Oleksandr Skutelnik who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard Mikita Bibikov (190-97) who added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Forward Andrii Shalamov (202-96) responded with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Yevheniy Savchenko (191-97) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Politekhnik players scored in double figures. Mariupol moved-up to fifth place. Loser Politekhnik keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Mariupol will meet Kremen (#9) in the next round. Politekhnik will have a break next round.
