The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Real Madrid (14-4) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked Baskonia (9-9) 95-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Madrid. Baskonia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Real Madrid's 28. It was a good game for American point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) who saved his team from a defeat with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Italian forward Achille Polonara (203-91) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) replied with 27 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Sergio Llull (190-87) added 23 points in the effort for Real Madrid. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Baskonia maintains tenth position with 9-9 record. Defending champion Real Madrid still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with FC Barcelona. Baskonia are looking forward to face higher ranked Andorra (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Real Madrid will play against La ICL Manresa (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
