Top ranked Lakers (34-9) recorded its ninth loss in Boston on Monday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Celtics (28-14) 139-107. Celtics outrebounded Lakers 48-36 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Jayson Tatum (203-98, college: Duke) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Kemba Walker (185-90, college: UConn) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. LeBron James (203-84) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists and center Javale McGee (213-88, college: Nevada) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Five Celtics and four Lakers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celtics maintains third place with 28-14 record having just one point less than leader Toronto R. Lakers at the other side still keep top position with nine games lost.
