Very expected game when 11th ranked Raad (5-15) lost to sixth ranked Mashad (13-7) in Mashhad 75-91 on Monday. Mashad outrebounded Raad 53-24 including a 34-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Raad's players. American point guard Corin Henry (181-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Agency) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 17 assists. The former international power forward Saleh Foroutannik (207-94) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Mashad players scored in double figures. N Fathi answered with 21 points and 5 assists and Nayeb Ahmadpour added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Raad. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mashad maintains sixth place with 13-7 record. Raad at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Mashad are looking forward to face Zob Ahan (#9) in Esfahan in the next round. Raad will play at home against Naft Abadan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
