Regular Season Round 23: Lokomotiv-2 - Khimki-2 98-81

The game between third ranked Khimki-2 (18-10) and seventh ranked Lokomotiv-2 (14-14) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Khimki-2 was defeated by Lokomotiv-2 in Krasnodar 98-81. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Khimki-2. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Khimki-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Zakhar Vedishchev (197-0) who scored 35 points (!!!). Ukrainian Andrey Matyuk (206-0) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Vladislav Odinokov (203-0) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and center Dmitrii Karbusov (205-99) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Khimki-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv-2 have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Khimki-2 at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Lokomotiv-2 are looking forward to face Parma-2 (#11) in Perm in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Khimki-2 will have a break next round.
