Not a big story in a game in Castellon where 12th ranked Castello (7-12) was defeated by ninth ranked Ourense (10-9) 86-78 on Friday. Ourense shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Oscar Alvarado (184-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 assists. Dutch forward Kevin van-Wijk (203-89, college: Valpo) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side Serbian Brano Djukanovic (194-95) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ourense maintains ninth place with 10-9 record, which they share with Caceres. Castello lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Ourense will face Oviedo CB (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Castello will play against Lleida Basquet and hope to win that game.
