There was no surprise in Wildau where 9th ranked Vechta-2 (5-10) was crushed by seventh ranked WSG Koenigs (7-8) 91-70 on Saturday. WSG Koenigs forced 21 Vechta-2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Acha Njei (195-85) who scored 21 points and 5 assists. Guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four WSG Koenigs players scored in double figures. American guard Ryan Quaid (203, college: W.Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and center Malte Giljan (205-95) added 8 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for WSG Koenigs. They maintain seventh place in North with 7-8 record. Loser Vechta-2 keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. WSG Koenigs will face higher ranked Goetting.ASC (#4) in Goettingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
