Regular Season Round 31: Shiga L-Stars - Shimane SM 71-64

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (14-17) defeated at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (10-21) 71-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 50-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. American center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to second place, which they share with Sea Horses M. Shimane Magic lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face again Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round.
