Not a big story in a game in Nagoya where 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (12-19) were defeated by second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (14-17) 98-93 on Saturday. Aishin Sea Horses made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) added 23 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain second place with 14-17 record having thirteen points less than leader Osaka E., which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Diamond Dolphins dropped to the third position with 19 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round. Diamond Dolphins will play again at home against the league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
