There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Salou (9-7) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Valls Nutrion (9-7) 70-61 on Saturday. Valls Nutrion outrebounded Salou 59-40 including 21 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Victor Vinos (193-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Sergi Domenech chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. Valls Nutrion's coach Oriol Pozo used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Xavier Costa (204-89) responded with 8 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Gerard Santiago (185-92) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Valls Nutrion moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Salou. Valls Nutrion will face higher ranked Sant Adria (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
