Regular Season Round 17: Elchingen - Coburg 87-65

Date: January 25, 2020
An interesting game for Elchingen (15-2) which hosted in Elchingen 3rd placed Coburg (10-6). First ranked Elchingen had an easy win 87-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Coburg. Elchingen had a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Coburg's players. Darian Cardenas (198-95) nailed 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Elchingen's coach Igor Perovic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Constantin Ebert (184-96) came up with 17 points and French Tidjane Keita (208-96) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Coburg in the defeat. Elchingen have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 15-2 record. Loser Coburg keeps the third position with six games lost. Elchingen will meet Speyer (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Coburg will play against the league's second-placed Wuerzburg (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
