Regular Season Round 31: Niigata A. - Akita NH 60-63

Fourth-ranked Niigata A. (9-22) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Akita Happinets (14-16) on Saturday. The visitors from Akita managed to secure only three-point victory 63-60. However their fans expected easier game. Akita Happinets forced 22 Niigata A. turnovers. It was a great evening for American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: S.Alabama) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 steals. Point guard Noboru Hasegawa (173-96) helped adding 5 points and 4 assists. Akita Happinets' coach Kenjiro Maeda used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: FSU) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Akita Happinets maintains fifth place with 14-16 record. Loser Niigata A. keeps the fourth position with 22 games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata A. will play again against Akita Happinets (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
