Regular Season Round 17: Pozuelo - Dist.Olimpico 71-68

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Dist.Olimpico (7-10) was edged on the road by fourteenth ranked Pozuelo (5-12) 71-68 on Saturday. Guard Alberto Arias (188-89) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and center Marcos Estebanez (200-92) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Pozuelo players scored in double figures. Enrique Ruiz (202-85) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Gabriel Gil (200-1) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pozuelo maintains fourteenth place in Group B with 5-12 record. Newly promoted Dist.Olimpico dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Pozuelo will face higher ranked Alcala (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
