The biggest surprise took place in Denver where host Nuggets (33-13) beat league's leader Rockets (28-17) 117-110 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rockets. Nuggets made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Forward Jerami Grant (203-94, college: Syracuse) chipped in 25 points. Point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) produced 32 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Austin Rivers (193-92, college: Duke) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Nuggets and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Nuggets maintains first place with 33-13 record, which they share with LA Clippers. Rockets at the other side still keep top position with 17 games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Toronto R. who have the same record. Rockets will play next day against strong Jazz trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nuggets will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
