The game between Top Four teams took place in Manila. 3rd ranked Filipino host Alab Pilipinas (7-4) lost to second ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (9-4) 102-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alab Pilipinas. Mono Vampire dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Alab Pilipinas' 38 and made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Mono Vampire players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) notched 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Mike Morrison (206-89, college: GMU) supported him with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Mono Vampire players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds by Maltese center Samuel Deguara (225-91) did not help to save the game for Alab Pilipinas. American-Liberian guard Prince Williams (197-92, college: ECU) added 23 points for lost side. Alab Pilipinas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mono Vampire keeps a position of league leader. Defending Filipino champion Alab Pilipinas keep the third place with four games lost. Mono Vampire will play against bottom-ranked Saigon Heat (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alab Pilipinas will play against WM Dragons (#6) in Kuala Lumpur and hope to get back on the winning track.
