Regular Season Round 1: Sameji - CPN 100-106

The game between closely ranked teams ended with CPN's (2-0) victory over Sameji (1-2) 106-100 on Sunday. CPN dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sameji's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when CPN made 8 blocks. American Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) fired 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winners. Victor Liz (193-86) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. Five CPN players scored in double figures. CPN's coach Victor Pena allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman AJ Davis (206-95, college: UCF) produced 33 points (!!!) (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import power forward Justin Reynolds (205-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. CPN will face Plaza (#5) in Santiago in the next round. Sameji's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena CDP.
