The game in Roanne was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Chalon (11-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Roanne (11-7). Roanne managed to secure a 8-point victory 79-71 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chalon. Roanne dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Chalon's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Gaetan Meyniel (189-0) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and center Ludovic Martel (211-0) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Roanne players scored in double figures. Roanne's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Hugo Besson (188-1) responded with 33 points (!!!) and forward Lucas Kouyate (200-99) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Roanne have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nanterre. Loser Chalon dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Roanne will meet Nanterre (#5) on the road in the next round. Chalon will play against Le Mans and hope to secure a win.
