Regular Season Round 19: Shahrdari BA - Shahrdari Q. 85-81

Very expected game in Abbass where 13th ranked Shahrdari Q. (3-18) was defeated by eighth ranked Shahrdari BA (9-12) 85-81 on Monday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for American-Guyanese forward Kedar Edwards (196-93, college: UT Martin, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Center Reza Moradi (207-0) helped adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Yaghoub Shaloushi (207-88) responded with 19 points and Saman Taherpour (205-91) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Shahrdari BA maintains eighth place with 9-12 record. Shahrdari Q. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Shahrdari BA will meet higher ranked Mahram (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shahrdari Q. will play against Army (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
