Twelfth-ranked Botafogo F.R. (7-12) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Minas (12-6) in Rio de Janeiro. The visitors from Belo Horizonte managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Minas made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard Leandro Barbosa (190-82) fired 24 points and 5 assists for the winners.
