Euroleague top team - Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Latvian TTT Riga (3-9) 87-67. The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. TTT Riga was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to TTT Riga's 22 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. UMMC Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by TTT Riga's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Hungarian-American point guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) who added 13 points and 7 assists during the contest. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (181-92) with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Megan Huff (190-96, college: Utah, agency: Wasserman) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains first position in Group A with 11-1 record. Defending Latvian champion TTT Riga dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will face Bourges (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. TTT Riga will play against Nadezhda Orenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
