Leading Toshiba Thunders (27-7) recorded its seventh loss in Kariya. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (15-18) 89-85. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) nailed a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) came up with 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) added 14 points and 10 assists respectively for Toshiba Thunders in the defeat. Aishin Sea Horses maintains second place with 15-18 record having thirteen points less than leader Tochigi B. Toshiba Thunders at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
