Regular Season Round 18: Tofas - Gaziantep 108-88

There was no surprise in Bursa where 10th ranked Gaziantep (7-11) was crushed by fourth ranked Tofas (13-5) 108-88. Tofas well out of reach of Gaziantep shooting 71.4 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists. American swingman Rion Brown (197-91, college: Miami, FL) notched 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international guard Baris Ermis (194-85) supported him with 10 points and 12 assists. Five Tofas players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Gaziantep. Power forward Metehan Akyel (206-96) added 21 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 13-5 record. Gaziantep at the other side keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara where they are favorite. Gaziantep will play at home against Darussafaka and hope to win that game.
