Bottom-ranked Amyntas D. managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they edged eleventh-ranked Koroivos in Athens 89-87. Amyntas D. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Koroivos' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Power forward Stelios Halaris (207-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Leonidas Zoupas (185-82) accounted for 16 points and 8 assists. Amyntas D.'s coach Alexis Zavos allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Emmanouil Chatzidakis (205-0) came up with 30 points and 8 rebounds and Giannis Athanasoulas (202-87) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Koroivos in the defeat. Five Koroivos players scored in double figures. Amyntas D. maintains sixteenth place with 4-12 record. Koroivos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Amyntas D. will meet at home higher ranked Apollon P. (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play against Pagrati (#15) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
