We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Nagoya where fifth ranked Diamond Dolphins (14-20) outscored one of their biggest challengers Niigata A. (11-23) 83-55 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: UConn) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: FSU) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to third place, which they share with Toyama G. Loser Niigata A. keeps the fourth position with 23 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face again Niigata A. (#4) at home in the next round.
