Regular Season Round 34: Hitachi SRT - Ryukyu GK 75-73

Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (23-11) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Ryukyu GK (21-12) 75-73 on Saturday evening. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 19 Ryukyu GK turnovers. Strangely Ryukyu GK outrebounded Hitachi Sunrockers 47-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) replied with 29 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 20 rebounds in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fourth position with 23-11 record. Ryukyu GK at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will again play against league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round.
