The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Niigata A.'s (12-23) road victory over 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (14-21) in Nagoya 68-64 on Sunday. Niigata A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: FSU) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) added 16 points in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Niigata A. maintains fourth place with 12-23 record, which they share with Hokkaido L. Loser Diamond Dolphins dropped to the third position with 21 games lost. Niigata A. will face Shimane Magic (#6) on the road in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against Chiba J. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
