Leader Rockets delivered the 31th victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Pelicans (19-31) 117-109 in Houston. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pelicans. Rockets made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Pelicans turnovers. Strangely Pelicans outrebounded Rockets 63-43 including a 47-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) notched a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) supported him with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds by Brandon Ingram (206-97, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Pelicans. Forward Zion Williamson (202-0, college: Duke) added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pelicans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rockets maintains first position with 31-18 record, which they share with Utah Jazz and Indiana P. Pelicans at the other side keep the fifth place with 31 games lost.
