Very predictable result in Lisbon where third ranked Olhanense (12-5) smashed 9th ranked Academia (8-9) 78-45 on Sunday. They outrebounded Academia 48-30 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Steven Julian (198-96, college: Cornell) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Reggie Baker (193-93, college: Beth.-Cookman) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Olhanense players scored in double figures. Olhanense's coach Caesar Domingues felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Jeremias Manjate (203-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Andre Cruz scored 10 points. Newly promoted Olhanense maintains third place with 12-5 record having five points less than leader Imortal. Loser Academia keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Olhanense will face league's leader Imortal in Albufeira in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academia will play on the road against Angrabasket (#13) and hope to win that game.
