Regular Season Round 16: Ramla - Ramat Hasharon 74-77

The most exciting game of round 16 in the D1 took place in Ramla. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Ramla (11-5) to fifth ranked Ramat Hasharon (9-7) 77-74 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ramla. Ramat Hasharon made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Shahd Abboud (175-95, college: Northwestern St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and American forward Jordan Hooper (188-92, college: Nebraska) who added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Tiffany Mitchell (175-94, college: S.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import guard Brittany Boyd (175-93, college: California) scored 7 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Ramat Hasharon maintains fifth position with 9-7 record. Defending champion Ramla keeps the second place with five games lost. Ramat Hasharon are looking forward to face Holon (#6) in Holon in the next round. Ramla will play against M.Haifa (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
