Regular Season Round 28: CSKA Junior - Unics-2 100-73

VTB-Youth League top team - CSKA Junior (26-4) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Unics-2 (16-16) in Moscow 100-73. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Unics-2 managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA Junior dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Unics-2's 38. CSKA Junior forced 20 Unics-2 turnovers and had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by forward Alexander Maltsev (200-2) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 assists and guard Anton Kardanakhishvili (195-2) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Four CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 assists by guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) did not help to save the game for Unics-2. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Junior maintains first position with 26-4 record. Loser Unics-2 keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Lokomotiv-2 and N.Novgorod-2. CSKA Junior will meet at home N.Novgorod-2 (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unics-2 will play against Enisey-2 in Krasnoyarsk and hope to secure a win.
