Regular Season Round 35: Toyoda Gosei - Shizuoka 79-59

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Toyoda Gosei as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Toyoda Gosei smashed 9th ranked Shizuoka in Aichi 79-59. They outrebounded Shizuoka 50-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Toyoda Gosei looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) chipped in 9 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Roschon Prince (198-94, college: Detroit Mercy) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Beninese forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyoda Gosei have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the ninth place with 20 games lost. Shizuoka will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Toyoda Gosei will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Shizuoka at home.
