Regular Season Round 36: Shiga L-Stars - San-en NP 80-70

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (3-33) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-18) 80-70 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while San-en NeoPhoenix only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) who added 30 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: BeoBasket) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four San-en NeoPhoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Kyoto H. San-en NeoPhoenix lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 33 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face again San-en NeoPhoenix (#6) in Hamamatsu in the next round.
