Regular Season Round 36: Kyoto H. - Hitachi SRT 84-89

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kyoto H. (18-18) against fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (24-12) on Saturday night. Host Kyoto H. unexpectedly was defeated by in Kyoto 84-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kyoto H.. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 9 assists respectively. Four Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fourth position with 24-12 record. Loser Kyoto H. keeps the third place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyoto H. will play again against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
