Regular Season Round 40: Shinshu BW - Yamagata 91-54

Very expected game when 6th ranked Yamagata (8-32) was smashed by first ranked Shinshu BW (31-7) in Nagano 91-54 on Saturday. Shinshu BW had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for point guard Yuta Osaki (179-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Naturalized American guard Louis Kurihara (188-96, college: Whittier) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) replied with 9 points and 12 rebounds and Hungarian forward Gyorgy Goloman (211-96, college: UCLA) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW maintains first position with 31-7 record. Yamagata lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 32 games lost. Shinshu BW will face again Yamagata (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
