There was no surprise in Karlsruhe where 15th ranked Lions (7-17) were defeated by third ranked Science City Jena (15-8) 89-82 on Saturday. Science City Jena made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Justin Leon (203-95, college: Florida) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marcus Stroman (188-96, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Lions players scored in double figures. Science City Jena maintains third place with 15-8 record having seven points less than leader Chemnitz. Lions lost third consecutive game.
