Regular Season Round 13: TSU - Mgzavrebi 83-77

Leader TSU delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 10th ranked Mgzavrebi (3-9) 83-77 in Tbilisi. Mgzavrebi was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. TSU dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mgzavrebi's 34. They outrebounded Mgzavrebi 55-31 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Mgzavrebi was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds. The former international power forward Giorgi Turdziladze (210-97) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Taj Spencer (201-93, college: CBU) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Lovell Cabbil (190, college: Liberty, agency: Green Sports Management) added 20 points in the effort for Mgzavrebi. Four Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. Mgzavrebi's coach Anatoli Berishvili rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. TSU maintains first place with 9-3 record. Mgzavrebi at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Tskhum-Abkhazeti. TSU will play against Kutaisi (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mgzavrebi will play against the league's second-placed Batumi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
