Regular Season Round 37: Shiga L-Stars - San-en NP 83-67

Rather expected game when 6th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (3-34) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (19-18) 83-67 on Sunday. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NeoPhoenix's 38. They outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 42-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) fired 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) chipped in 21 points. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Yuki Kawamura (169-1) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. San-en NeoPhoenix lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 34 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. San-en NeoPhoenix will play at home against Diamond Dolphins and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
