An interesting game for London Lightning (12-3) which hosted in London 4th ranked Halifax Hurricanes (2-11). First ranked London Lightning had an easy win 112-97. London Lightning outrebounded Halifax Hurricanes 53-32 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Halifax Hurricanes were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Swingman Anthony Gaines (193-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Maurice Bolden (208-89, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five London Lightning players scored in double figures. Guard Joel Kindred (192-91, college: St.Augustine) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. London Lightning have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-3 record. Halifax Hurricanes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 11 games lost. London Lightning will play against league's second-placed St.John's E. in St. John's in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halifax Hurricanes will play on the road against the league's leader Moncton Magic and hope to get back on the winning track.
