Regular Season Round 12: Alab Pilipinas - Saigon H. 82-75

Date: February 9, 2020
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (9-5) beat bottom-ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (3-10) in Manila 82-75 on Sunday. Alab Pilipinas outrebounded Saigon Heat 54-42 including a 44-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American forward Nick King (201-95, college: MTSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American-Filipino point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Alab Pilipinas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Saigon Heat. Alab Pilipinas have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Filipino champion moved-up to second place. Loser Saigon Heat stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Alab Pilipinas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saigon Heat will play at home against Hong Kong ELL (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
